History

Today's KAMIC Group is the result of a 2011 merger between ElektronikGruppen BK AB and the former KAMIC Group. 

KAMIC Installation has its primary origin in activities begun in 1983 with the formation of KAMIC Karlstad Automatic AB. KAMIC Karlstad is the original core of the group which since 2001 has grown through the acquisition of other companies and businesses.

1983

KAMIC Karlstad Automatic AB (KAMIC Karlstad) founded. The business consists of the manufacture of automation equipment, as well as trading and agency activities.

1990

Automation activities are sold.

1991

Focus on trading and agency business.

1999

KAMIC Karlstad acquired by the Amplex Group.

2000

Subsidiary KAMIC Shielding (KAMIC Skärmningsteknik AB) merges with KAMIC Karlstad.

2001

KAMIC Group formed from several companies in the Amplex Group, including KAMIC Karlstad and Microsec AB.

New sales office opened in Spånga.

Fin-Alert Electronics Oy acquired.

2003

Bromanco Björkgren AB acquired.

2004

Acquisition of Tibe Interconnect AB, Dalma Electronics AB and Juha-Elektro Oy. Divisions of LTG-Keifor also acquired.

2005

Acquisition of Inteno Broadband Technology AB. KAMIC Karlstad establishes a permanent showroom in central Stockholm and expands its offices and warehouses in Karlstad.

2006

Acquisition of Marelco-Vinga AB (subsequently renamed Vinga Ljus AB). The group establishes a sales office in Gothenburg.

2008

Showroom and sales office open in Malmö.

2010

Vinga Ljus legally merges with KAMIC Karlstad.
New central warehouse established.
Acquisition of the Polish cable manufacturer Iconex.

2011

Following a public offering on the stock exchange, ElektronikGruppen BK AB is acquired, tripling KAMIC Group's size and giving the concern a presence in 11 countries in Northern Europe and Asia. Fredrik Celsing, President and CEO of ElektronikGruppen, becomes President and CEO of the new concern.

Business area KAMIC Installation established.

2012


February 2012: Divisions and subdivisions created.

May 2012: Parts of Juha-Elektro’s business acquired by KAMIC Installation, doubling the number of employees in Finland.

July 2012: Move to new premises in Karlstad. Central warehousing for KAMIC Installation established.

2014

The company name KAMIC Karlstad Automatic AB changes to KAMIC Installation AB.

2017

Acquisition of Instrumentcompaniet AS to the Installation Business Area.

2019

Acquisition of Eltavler AS to the Installation Business Area.
